Reviews Fabulous Horowitz has outdone himself and wrote possibly the best book ever! Straight from the beggining there is non stop action which makes you never put the book down. Cannot wait for the next in the series, hopefully it will be as action packed as this one! 2009-01-06 One of Anthony's best books This book I just got for Hanukkah and I read it in a day. I just couldn't put it down. It's exciting from the beginning and has a great end. I love how Horowitz made this more adult this time. I wouldn't want my 9 year old brother reading this book. It made me shudder a few times and most of all it was captivating. Please write the next one soon it's such a cliffhanger. Just like what JK Rowling did so well on in Harry Potter you don't know whats going to happen. In an interview someone asked what are the differences between Alex Rider and Matt Freeman? Anthony said "Matt may not have a happy ending." 2008-12-23 Wow! I have 2 complaints about this book: 1.) The fact that it had to end. 2.) The fact that I found myself not being able to put it down until I finished reading it. This book is brilliant, and I can't wait until the next one comes out. Especially since the book left the reader not just on a cliffhanger, but falling off the cliff. If you haven't read this book, you are missing out on something great. 2008-12-14 Marvellous Horowitz This is the fourth bok n the Power of Five series and I have really been looking forward to it for some time. I felt like an excited child when I opened up the package from Amazon and I noticed with glee that the pages of the book were teal-edged to match the front cover. The cover of the book is metallic and shiny and really did look quite the Halloween treat! The fourth book focuses mainly on the last of the Five, Scarlett Adams, as she is taken by the evil Nightrise Corporation and held hostage in the dying city of Hong Kong. This book does not have the fast and frantic pace that the other three books had and on the surface, it appears that there is not as much magic in this book as there was in the other books. In the end though, the book absolutely does deliver and it has a magnificent and explosive ending. We realise that the magic was there all along but that we simply weren't noticing it. Naturally, being a book series about the Power of Five, there are five books in the series. Necropolis perfectly sets the stage for the final book yet I have to admit that I don't think it would be able to stand alone as a story on its own. On second thoughts, a lot happens in this book to Scarlett and in the end, none of the books could have stood on their own because you are always going to want to rush to the next story so that the Five can come together and the fight for the end of the world can begin (again). I am certainly not disappointed with this book and once again, my only feeling of sadness has to do with wondering how long I will have to wait until the final book in the series is released. 2008-12-14 fantastic Well once again Mr Horrowitz has outdone himself.I read to the middle then finished it off in 2 days. I couldnt wait to get my hands on this and as the others have said I wasnt disapointed either.
