This book is an absolute winner on all fronts! It doesn't waste time telling you about all the obvious stuff which you can read on the UKCAT website and goes straight to the heart of the UKCAT tests, providing lots of valuable tips and practice.
If you have the budget for just one book, buy this one. It will give you more than all the other books put together.
I found the book very interesting and it helped me fill in sheets given by my counsellor. I feel it would be better alongside going to a counsellor, not a self help as much.
Suffering with Anxiety, O.C.D and Depression for many years, grappling with anti-depressants, CBT and talk therapies I thought " right lets try the stay at home, relax and slowly help yourself" route. Safe to say I had severe and unrelenting depression at the time and any person who has been through it or seen a loved one go through it know that it takes a hell of alot of energy and stamina to do the...
The one star does not refer to the text, which I have only partially read. The one star is for the retarded publishers at Picador.
When publishing a work of any genre, there are universal guidelines that publishers and editors MUST follow. These give the reading public a sense of cohesion and makes them able to pick-up and read any text by any publisher. If all publishers had vastly different...
I hugely enjoyed reading this book, and thought its explanation of babies' brain development under different parental styles to be sensible, sound and clear. What I did object to was the overemphasis on the role of the biological mother in the attachment process. Children all over the world are brought up very successfully in different ways: some by a nuclear family of mum (and part-time dad), some...
This book just explains how easy it is to give up. After 20 years+ and numerous attempts to give up its incredable when the penny finaly drops and you realize giving up smoking is not so difficult. Its the years of brainwashing that stops u stopping. Unfortunately if you are slightly intelligent you might be able to talk yourself into continuing. You wont believe me but after two weeks you will not...
First off, I've never been tempted to write a review for anything before. But this book can be so helpful, can make such a difference, that I feel morally obliged to spread the word (ridiculous, yep, but still true).
Buy this book. Please don't dismiss it as just another self-help manual full of empty maxims and irrelevent advice. I've read them, I've found them just as hopeless. Which...
I love this book. It's an absolute must for those undertaking regular exercise. I recently completed a Fitness Instructor course and wanted to learn a wider range of stretch movements, for myself and for when I eventually take the career change to work in the industry. It clearly explains the stretches, the major muscle groups involved and the aim of the stretches.
