I am using this book during my duty as an offshore medic and it has helped me a lot of times. Sometimes I find the information too limited, so I always utilize Google or other books I carry with me to fill certain gaps. Overall a good book to have but the Oxford Handbook of Clinical Diagnosis is needed to make this complete!
Great book, everything you need to know about resp physiology in a nutshell. Easy to understand and remember. Extremely well written. One of the best buys so far and great for exams.
What a brilliant book.....it presents all the information clearly and with good x-rays to back it up. A brilliant buy at under £20.
A must read for student Radiographers everywhere.
This book is a must have for respiratory learning as it is clear and concise and contains both adults and paediatric care. The clear diagrams make it easier to learn and the chapters cover core subjects for example assessments, techniques, paediatrics, ventilation and many more. Throughout the authors have made small summary physio points which will be useful when revising for a particular topic. The...
This is an excellent and concise intro to respiratory medicine. It does what it says on the tin. System based physiology is almost ready made for revision and this book makes it easy to see the clinical relevance of what is at times could seem dry and too lab based (physics, gas laws, etc.) It really didn't bother me that it wasn't in colour - and that kind of thing normally does.
This book is really good. i am a second year physiotherapy student and just starting cardio respiratory and have found that this book has everything in it that i need and is well laid out and easy to read. if you are doing anything respiratory based this book is good for the theory and the practice and i would definitely recommend it!
I got this book a month ago and found it extremely helpful. It's great to carry around with you on the wards and refer to quickly should you need to.
It covers the duties of FY1 and FY2, examples of a pre- and post-foundation cv, how to write notes, discharge summaries, dealing with being on-call,referrals, miscellaneous conditions in medicine, surg and A&E, basic procedures, lab test interpretation...
I bought this book after been feeling my lack of good breathing skills... if you know what I mean. THis book has enabled me to work on my own, it is very practical. The excercises included in it are effective and can be done over short periods of time. It doesn't have any of the New Agey, Oriental parafernalia that normally comes with breathing/relaxation books, even though it doesn't opose...
This is a really good book. Although it's called a survival guide it covers everything that you would need to know - it's written to be accessible for non-radiologists, but is detailed enough to take you to FRCR. The most useful chapter covers the correct positioning of all the different lines and tubes.
Although this book was not what I had expected it to be (i.e. a detailed book with many pages devoted to breathing exercises e.g. paced breathing techniques etc) I did not regret the purchase, in fact I was very impressed.
The reason why I rate this work so highly is because it offers a fresh perspective on dealing with so called psychosomatic/psychophysiological ailments e.g. panic attacks,...
