Not good: will I finish it? Won't I? Guess I'll have to if I want to assess fairly, but it'll be hard work. Arrogance seeps through every word and, at the end of the day, he's repeatedly hammering home one point that anyone with a degree of critical thinking will be aware of anyway.
Barbara's books about Elements are a necessary and sufficient condition for getting the best out of it. If you need to know it, it's there, and if it's not there, you don't need to know it.
I think this is an OK but there are to many abbreviations of words and after reading half the book it becomes very dry and uninteresting.(paint drying moments)
I am sure this book would help you move up the google rankings, but from a programmers perspective I believe you can find all you want on googles website and related forums. Think I wasted my money here.
I received this as a gift from my other half when I bought a new laptop, which came with Windows Vista pre-installed. There's nothing much to complain about. The chapters are structured in a sensible way, and I find Andy Rathbone's tone really appropriate to the needs of the 'Dummies' series (I mean this as a compliment rather than a criticism). My only real criticism is that I don't think Windows...
I have just bought an unbelievable MacBook, ( I previously owned a G4 running Tiger) I was a bit worried because I know Snow Leopard is on its way in summer 2009, so upgrades will date this book. However this book is easy to understand and full of logical short cuts. The only drawback is that because I have used a Mac for years a lot of the book contains information I know about. I will purchase the...

Kelby is quite open about sharing the techniques which he has evolved, probably after much trial and error, thus making life easier for all of us. The sections on working in tandem with Photoshop and...

I was lucky enough to be given this as a birthday gift when I first got into my Family Tree. It is a really useful resource helping a beginner find their way around the wealth of info available on the web to the amateur genealogist. There is info on where to start and on the whole aray of online sources. A great book, worth the money.
I have read Martin Evenings books on Photoshop since 5.5 and this one has more pages than the the CS3 book but seems to be even more staight to the point, concentrating a lot on work flow ethics. With the additional material on the DVD and 2 hours of tutorials its great value for money.
An excellent companion to this will be the new Realworld RAW CS4 BOOK BY Jeff Schewe which is coming out...
