I ordered this book after already having the christmas addition but this one is certainly the best from the collection.
The ideas are inspiring and the photogrophy is gorgeous. I love it. Ive made a few items and the instructions are clear and straightforward.
Highly Recommended.
Alan Fletcher's The Art of Looking Sideways is an absolutely extraordinary and inexhaustible "guide to visual awareness", a virtually indescribable concoction of anecdotes, quotes, images and bizarre facts that offers a wonderfully twisted vision of the chaos of modern life. Fletcher is a renowned designer and art director and the joy of The Art of Looking Sideways lies in its beautiful...
With its attractive cover, I know you will pick this book up off the bookshop shelf if you are the least bit interested in jewellery making. From design ideas and inspiration, this book aims to take the jewellery maker through the whole process from start to finish. Comprehensive chapters include setting up a studio, materials, tools and techniques. Although it covers some of the same area as Elizabeth...
I bought this book a year ago now, and let me say it has been read and re-read many a time, showcasing plenty of street artists, but not much of their street art, their actual rough sketchbook work where they get the ideas for the big wall pieces, the drawings are amazing and there is plenty of variety and loads of pages, and at 9.97!? Bargain. I promise you if you like illustration and street art,...
I bought this book just over a week ago and set about making one of the projects straight away. The book is lovely to look at (I spent hours just pondering the possibilities!) and is very clear and detailed. I made one of the necklaces tonight (couldn't wait for all the supplies to arrive!!) and although I couldn't get the exact beads in the make up of this necklace, my necklace looks just as good...
This is truly one of those life changing books. It is surreal, vulgar, explicit and tender in equal measure. I have an interest in tattooing but my wife does not and she was as taken by the Alice in Wonderland otherness of this book as I was. Everything you have never nor will ever need to know about the Russian criminal underground and it's bizarrely profane tattoo culture.
I must confess I bought it only attracted by the price (at that time, almost half price) with no positive expections. When I received it, I letterally divoured it!
Great quilts, using jelly rools, but it also provides table conversions to other cuts of fabrics and quilt measurements,
It's spuring me to sew my first double-size bed quilt!
