He writes with knowledge and clarity about how we look at photographs, what makes a lasting or attractive image. The lush pictures illustrate the text beautifully.

I have read Martin Evenings books on Photoshop since 5.5 and this one has more pages than the the CS3 book but seems to be even more staight to the point, concentrating a lot on work flow ethics. With the additional material on the DVD and 2 hours of tutorials its great value for money.

Having recently acquired a Canon EOS450D I read the supplied manual thoroughly. I then obtained "The Digital Field Guide" by Charlotte Lowrie - and despite some experience in the field was still struggling.
The DUMMIES guide is way better at doing what it says on the cover! I would thoroughly recommend it to a new user of this CAnon Camera.
