Enjoy Rick Stein's cookery books....his written style is familiar and so enjoyable....beats all the noisy/in your face chef books out there by a mile.
His relaxed style engages everyone...even the none foodies in my family enjoy his programmes. As for this book, it is a great buy....and I would recommend it as a lovely gift for anyone who is fed up of cooking the same recipes week after week....
More than just a cookbook, this beautifully produced volume in three parts promotes a total understanding of British fish, from their natural habitats to what sauce they go best with to how to respect their seasonality, in keeping with the River Cottage e
I got this book a few months ago and have now tried out a good few of the recipes. All have been good. That's not my main gripe about the book though. For £25 I expect the publisher to have done a proper job on copyediting and indexing. They haven't. Page references to recipes don't always match up. And the index is rubbish. For example, although the book contains 3 or 4 recipes for risotto,...
There may be many pretenders to her throne, but as The Delia Collection: Fish comprehensively demonstrates, Delia Smith can still see off her rivals, even those with trendy haircuts and manic TV personalities. Now the teachings of this remarkable establishment are made available to a wider public, in amply illustrated form at once lucid and sumptuous. This is both a technical manual and an extraordinarily comprehensive collection of recipes; and...
For me Wild Food was Ray Mears' best TV series yet, and I'm a big fan of all of his series. So I rushed out to buy the book but I'm a bit disappointed. I've recently seen the paperback and prefer the hardback version for the size of the photos.

Having been very disappointed by Ray Mears 'Bushcraft Survival', I was pleased to have purchased this book. It covers everything that a novice woodsman like myself would need to know. I was very impressed with the section on building shelter. Nice and easy to follow. A good buy in my opinion.
