Hi I have read all books in a matter of 3 weeks, and Breaking Dawn, in my opinion was the best one. New Moon took far too long to get interesting.
Breaking Dawn is the most eventful and I couldn't put the book down. Its not the easiest to bring with you for a commute (its heavy) and I really enjoyed it. The only slight criticism I have is that I thought the ending was rather blase. I thought...
I am stunned - I dont remember a novel, or series of novels, having such an effect of me for a long long time. Im practically forcing friends to read them! I am so so sad to be moving on to the final book in the series and after racing through the first two, took my time with this one for one reason... Every page needs savouring.
Enjoy...
The second book in the Twilight saga covers the pain Bella goes through when Edward decides to leave and how she bonds with Jacob while trying to get over her heart break.
Again, Meyer does a great job in portraying how it feels to lose someone you're madly in love with. The sensation of loss, emptiness, the hole in your chest, the difficulty to breath, the effort of trying to keep on...
The second-to-none important message in this book: "Enlightenment is the best thing that ever has happend to mankind" is delivered in a fragile vessel - a column writing witty young daredevil. All the bravadour occasionally gets in the way of the evidence - a bit like what is the problem with Bjorn Lomborg and global warming. The book could have benefitted tremendously from a lot tighter editing. And...
After reading the 'Twilight' Books I had high hopes for this book. I'm sorry to say it did not live up to my expectations. I skipped pages from time to time because I just wanted it to end. It wasn't that it was poorly written, it was just quite boring to be honest. It could also be that the 'Twilight' books were so good nothing read after them would seem very good. Sookie Stackhouse 7-Copy Boxed Set...
Swedes are in my opinion great crime writers, but Larsson takes it to another level. I could not put this book down and would grab it whenever I had a moment to spare be it ten minutes at the bus stop or my lunchbreak and sleep was lost reading too late at night!
The charachter descriptions are fantastic and create wonderful images in your head and solving the puzzle/crime was left until...
Stieg Larsson gleaned a remarkable degree of success before his too-early death in 2004. He had delivered to his publisher three remarkable crime novels; the initial book in his ‘Millennium’ sequence, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, had enjoyed an unprecedented success in his native Sweden before the translation took the UK by storm. Larsson had made a considerable mark as a crusading journalist,...
I was glad that I read this book after seeing the film otherwise I think that I would have felt let down. Although the film was amazing, the imagery in the book is fantastic. You get a real feel for the characters and want to make sure everyone ends up safe and happy! Couldnt put book down as each chapter really traps you in it! Great read
This is a fascinating insight into the landings and subsequent action in Normandy in June 1944. It is told from many different sides, British, American, German and French - even Russian and Polish - and covers the strategy from the very top to individual stories of heroism and human kindness. I couldn't put it down; yet it also raised a huge lump in my throat thinking of the ordinary men who lost their...
My daughter and I had to order this book from the UK since it wasn't coming out in the US until October. We were really saddened to discover that this is the last book in the series. We have really enjoyed reading this series. Like others, we felt that the ending was too abrupt. It was a big buildup and then...nothing. It was still a really good book, but the ending could've been better, especially...
